Where they differ

A bot in the call, or your computer’s audio

Avoma’s assistant joins virtual meetings from your calendar invite and appears as a participant; admins can rename it and add recording notices. To avoid the bot, Avoma can pick up cloud recordings from Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or Webex, which need the right platform licence and admin setup.

Kimiko records your microphone and your computer’s audio from the desktop app, so it works with any call app and nothing new appears in the participant list. You’re still responsible for telling people you’re taking notes.

Where meetings are processed and kept

Avoma transcribes and summarizes in its cloud on AWS in the United States, and keeps recordings without a time limit unless an Enterprise retention policy says otherwise. It says it doesn’t train its models on customer data.

Kimiko processes meetings with local models and keeps your library in an encrypted database on your computer. Meeting audio isn’t saved unless you choose to keep it.

Built for revenue teams, or for your own work

Avoma’s strengths are team workflows: notes in Salesforce or HubSpot, call scorecards and coaching, deal risk and forecasting, free viewer seats for managers and colleagues.

Kimiko is built around one person’s notes, meetings and tasks. You write in a full notes editor, organize meetings into projects, ask questions across your library and dictate into other apps. It has no CRM sync or team admin.

Questions

Can Avoma record without a bot?

Partly. By default its assistant joins your call. Avoma can also use Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or Webex cloud recordings, which need the right platform licence, and its phone app records in-person meetings. Kimiko records your computer’s audio, so there’s no bot to admit.

Does Avoma work offline?

No. Avoma transcribes and summarizes in its cloud; its phone app can open meetings you’ve downloaded. Kimiko’s local models transcribe and summarize without internet once they’re downloaded.

Does Avoma use my meetings to train AI?

Avoma says it doesn’t use customer data to train its models. Your Kimiko meetings stay on your computer and don’t reach Kimiko’s servers.

Can Kimiko update my CRM like Avoma?

No. Kimiko has no CRM integration. It exports PDF, Word or Markdown files, and desktop AI apps can read your notes through local MCP when you turn it on.

How is Avoma priced?

Per recording seat: from US$19 a month billed annually, or US$29 monthly, on Startup, with coaching and revenue add-ons on top. Viewers are free. Kimiko is one plan for the full app; see Pricing above.
